Antti answers emails very correctly and can ship abroad.

You can find many Finnish puukko knives with the blade made by YP Taonta. The art of forging has passed though many generations of the Puronvarsi family to Yrjö Puronvarsi, who created the YP Taonta smith. Today the family's crafting tradition is continued by Antti Mäkinen, Yrjö's grandson. Antti is not only keeping the family's reputation for excellent hand-forged blades alive, but he also makes a selection of products including puukkos, tools and axes.

Does not work for me either, but I can testify the blades he makes are excellent.

The rhombic shape is unusual, but works well. Makes the blade stiff.

The one I have does not keep the edge as well as my Gold Standard, the humble Mora with the Sandviken Carbon steel blade, but it is easy to sharpen and hone.
Might be the hardening is not 100% perfect, which is forgivable on a hand crafted blade.

I hope he starts using a quality stainless steel one day.
