I used to be employed by McDonalds to go around to each restaurant and install arbitrary malfunctions in the Ice Cream Machines. Challenging job. Lots of work.

Weird question I guess. But I'm feeling quite unsatisfied with work recently. The challenge has gone from it, and monotony has kicked in. I need Something new but don't know where to turn or what to look at. What jobs or careers have you had in the past or currently do that have satisfied you? I feel I need a fresh challenge. Feeling quite deflated about it currently.

Thanks for any input.
Hi, well, this is my specialist area (career psychology)! You can get ideas from talking to other people but it can be helpful to look at yourself - what have you enjoyed most, parts of different jobs, what skills do you want to use more of, what fascinates you, if you could do anything - forgetting about money, what would you love to do. Do you want to work with people, data, be outdoors or office based work, be freelance, have a secure job with a pension ....

I'm going through a transition having completed my doctorate, and also trained as a Vision Quest guide, so i'll be moving into more nature based work. Best wishes, Denise
