And I can now announce where I was, what the implement was and where said implement went >>>

  • In the front room (aka sitting room / lounge etc)
  • With an awl
  • Dropped onto the bit where foot becomes ankle, causing bleeding, bruising and swelling  :lmao:

:lmao: You may note, from the above, that this will now need to go to a second tie-break :lmao:

I can report that a properly sharpened and stropped awl, falling from a height of approximately four foot can penetrate flesh 'quite easily' and hurts quite a bit more than a slight poke to a digit

I'll post the tie-break question shortly

just a quick Q phil, why were you doing barefooted?:lmao:

:lmao: I spend as much time as possible bare footed ~ which is why I make my own moccs :lmao:

What I couldn't foresee was the awl tip being stuck in leather of the lid of my sewing tin ~ and becoming loose in mid air :yikes: .

Anyone for an iron cod piece and femoral artery protector? :yikes: :lmao: :yikes:

lol, so do i TBF but i dont use an awl that much.

I use a four prong chisel to create my stitch holes, sacralidge i know but it works and gives a lovely uniform line.

Whatever works for you  . I use a pricking iron as well ~ but it's something I tend to use more for badges and patches.
The best way to get good results from an awl is to mod the handle to suit your hand and how you sew :)o says he who really needs to do some further modding ).

My apologies for the lack of secondary tie-break Q ~ events outside my control and I've only just got back home

Oops

I've been wracking my noggin as to a reasonably easy, fair to all second tie-break Q. It's taken a while, but here we go ...

As is my wont, a twist on a traditional question ... How many days (from today ~ 16 March 2011) has it been since my 39th birthday?

The winner will be the one closest to the correct number.

Again, I'll leave it for 24 hours.

My thanks go to all those who entered (and followed) this competition.

113 from me Phil. Sorry, thought i was out of the comp.

No mate, you all did equally well in the first tie-breaker  :lmao: .

However, the second tie-break does present us with a clear winner :D (Yay!)

The winner is, due to my 39th birthday being over a year ago, >>>

:35: Snarf :35:
