Work sharp machines ?

Are Work Sharp Machines worth it for the average knife user ? as my brother in law asked me to check them out as he's thinking of buying 1 and I had to tell him I had no idea, so what does the average user think or does anyone even use 1 of these.

Yes, they are wonderful things. Takes minutes to reprofile edges and put edges on things. I’ve done swords, knives, axes and used it to shape handles and polish things that aren’t knives. Wonderful bit of kit.
