Does anyone out there use a woollen poncho/cape/cloak. If so, how useful do you find them and how warm and weatherproof?

depends on what you're doing - the alpaca ones you can get are copies of what the shepherds wear so are generally up to the abuse - seen them in action but not used one. I have an old army lightweight blanket which was designed to fit into a basha to make a sleeping bag I turned it into a poncho liner/camp blanket and its warm and comfortable.

basically its wool so it works
