Can anyone point me towards a website or book that goes into choosing wood for different purposes.
For example, if you were building portable furniture, you would something strong and light, but that might not be the best wood for making tent poles, and in turn the best wood for tent poles, might not be the best for tent pegs
I would be interested in reading some thing about the science behind this, if anyone can pointy me towards any reading matter.
