Hi All,

I am just getting back in tot eh whole striking out alone after years of 'family holidays etc' now they've grown up its time for me to do something interesting again.

I am looking for ideas for a trip this week but I am struggling with parking and locations away from people!
?
Any good suggestions of places to just disappear and build a camp for 3 or 4 days undisturbed? preferably NW / Wales area.

Thanks

Lee

What do you mean by 'build a camp'? Finding somewhere that will let you cut wood and build shelters might be very hard.

If you want somewhere that will allow you to camp, do some whittling and a bit of green woodwork, try 'Middlewood trust'. The website is no longer maintained since my friends left, but there is an active facebook page. They are up in Lancashire.

To be honest most people in this forum keep there 'wild camp' areas secret as they like there own private space me included, But in saying that there's plenty of places to go 'Wild Camping' in Wales and in the NW area away from people undisturbed just look on a map of the area you want and as long as you find a secluded area and you don't have big fires and chop down most of the woodland you should be ok, better still if you find an area you may want to camp check out who owns the land and get permission, normally if you are out the way and treat the land with respect most landowners don't mind you staying in there woodland as long as you agree to their ground rules I have done it many times and never had any problems.

Good luck!
