If money and time was no object, what would be your number one and why?

I myself couldn't answer this properly at the moment, a very close call would be a bespoke woodlander from Ben Orford :) , I always fancied the woodlore, but after reading from the posts, now im'e not sure :(

As my journey into knifedom expands, the more i know the more i change my mind

so lets hear it...................

Hmm,

Only one ??

Well now I guess it depends on what for but given its only one I suppose you mean one for everything. Well, if I can have only one, I'll have (another) Magnus Axelson custom. I bought one of his knives and it is just the most beautiful thing I have ever handled - he has promised to make me another to my design later in the year so I'll show it to you then! There is a real artform in making something beautiful and functional - this knife looks fantastic but is every bit as capable as my BushmanTZ - you can baton with it, it holds an amazing edge etc.

Various due to work
I am going to have to say my Wilkinson Sword Woodlore. If I had the money I would byu an Alan Wood Woodlore and have a rosewood or antler handle. i don't know about antler tyhough, they are Woodlore instructor exclusive.

I recently finished this..

A swc bushcraft blade with a minor design change - edge goes all the way to the handle. Olivewood handles that are left a bit fatter than the original. Fantastic knife and my favorite user blade.

I thinned the handle a bit further since this picture. I like to 'play ' with my knives, shaping the handle until it feels right for my hands. My main gripe with the AW/WS blades (besides the ricasso/edge thingy) is that they have handles that are too thin for my liking.

This one is the only swc-blade I finished. Frankly, I was curious to find out if a knife from a 50 pound blank could perform as good as the original knife at 200+++ pounds. It holds a -very- good edge. This one seems to be hardened a bit higher on the RC scale than my AW woodlore. The grind on this blade is very well done. I only saw such a nice even grind on a custom knife from Nick Wheeler. The AW and WS woodlores are now retired for the retirement fund :)

I have finished various blades in the past. It's getting quite addictive ;).
