Where is the best place to source pieces of flint sized right for using with flint and steel? I have searched the internet and can't find a retailer. I've looked for a bushcraft type supplier and I have looked at muzzleloading sites but I haven't found it yet. I know I should go look around the bottom of chalk cliffs, but there aren't whole lot of those in mainland Denmark where I live.

adestu- that is appreciated but I will be asking some friend in the UK to scrounge some flint up if they can. If that doesn't work out I will get back with you.

Not every beach is loaded with flint like the beaches in the UK, You you'll walk a thousand miles of beach in North America and not find one piece. Other rocks produce a spark though, look for some quartz ;)

if its just a big lump of flint you want ill send you one for the postage,
I have an iron age hill fort just up the road from me, there are big pits of the stuff, and lots of it broken
so at some point it has been worked ie some iron age dude has had a go at making something with it!

Hi, I noticed your reply in the topic about Flint and was wondering if you would be kind enough to send me a piece of that flint aswell for postage cost?

I fancy trying to do some flint & steel firefighting so the flint would be much appreciated :)

Regards
Adam.
