Excellent program. Visited the South Australian museum in Adelaide once and they have an entire floor dedicated to Antarctic exploration and Mawson.
Another one of those stoic explorers of a bygone age when hardship and misfortune were certainties rather than possibilities (a bit like flying Ryan air). They overcame such obstacles with what seems no more than a shrug and then carried on; 'oh, the bottom of my foots dropped off, be a dear chap and pass the sticky tape will you!'
I have such great admiration for such men and women and know, in my heart, i could never have achieved half of what they did.

Watching it now, truly amazing, few questions though ;

they both got through 5 dogs in 12 days?
They left the dogs outside the tent instead of bringing them in ?
could have left the meat to freeze
did they use the dog fure to help them i.e keep them warm? surlely?

yea more comments when its finished, just goes to show how fit humans where back then
