I didn`t even realise squirrels liked water let alone go for a swim now and then.

I understood that the object in question was the remainder of the umbilical cord!
Ye Gods - this site is turning into one of those Hard Paw Corn sites or whatever the phrase is!!
Is this British Red chappie a total moral degenerate???*

Always amazes me how many mammals can swim. I remember watching a hare swim across a flood swollen river to get away from a fox. :Wow:

I saw a fox swimming away from an island on the Tivy with an unbroken swan's egg in its mouth, having just raided a nest.

I was kayaking up my local estuary once, full tide, so the river was wide, 300-400 yards say, I thought I was coming up to a piece of drift-wood, but I noticed it wasnt going with the flow of the water, it was infact a grey squirrel bang smack in the middle of the river, casually crossing to the greener tree's on the other side. :)

Hope you ran it over, or gave it a helpful pat on the head with your paddle.
