What tents do you use and can you recomened one to me as i want to buy a better one.
Thanks,
Bri.

We use a North Face Minibus tent...rather expensive, but worth every penny. The best thing about it is the bathtub style waterproof floor...
keeps you dry and happy even in a hurricane. And it has entrances and vestibules on 2 sides...my better half insisted on the 2 entrances after
being in our old tent and having a bear sitting outside the door, and her with no back entrance to escape from!

Erm under £100 i suppose or am i dreaming lol, for the time being and ill be taking my 2 kids with me quite a bit but i want to do it alone aswell .

Well, it's always checking out somewhere like Blacks or Millets, and if you're anywhere near a Decathlon check out their Quechua (own brand) T3 Ultralite which seems decent enough. Weighs in at 3.5kg so may be a bit heavy for a solo hike but fine for car camping.

whats wrong with the tent you have?

if its letting in wet all it might need is proofing.

my best (but certainly not sole) tent is a cheap one.

an american Storproof missouri 3

its in dorky colours but its withstod storms on top of sea cliffs, it keeps most of the rain out, and theres an acre of space inside.

also a porch big enough to sit on a stool and cook in.

a decent porch is really an essential in this climate

I see you are in Wigan, have you had a look at your local GOOUTDOORS? Whilst I haven't been to the Wigan branch I have visited the Blackburn branch a few times and they have loads of tents of all shapes and sizes set up at the back of the store. With them being set up you get a much better idea of what you are getting for your money. £100 should be plenty to get a decent tent for you and the kids.
