What oil can I use on a weathered handle ?

My regular user is looking a bit tired on the handle, what can I treat it with to bring it back to life ? Is linseed up to the job ?

As it's not something you're going to put in your mouth (I assume!) then you could oil it with almost anything. Linseed is good though as it's one of those oils that cures so should form a more permanent waterproofing layer over time.

Linseed is a great oil, for the reasons already stated. Another good oil to use is british stock oil, which is used on gun stocks. It can be found at most gun stores or outdoor places.

Easy to use and provides a great lasting protection for your knife scales, especially if they're made from an expensive wood.

What kind of wood is it, some woods you dont have to oil. They have so much oil and stuff them selfs.

It`s Welsh figured Ash Seved, it looked grand when I first had it made but a couple of seasons of rain and my grubby mitts has left it a little dull looking.
