How much is it ?
I personally don't like the handle design because of the finger notches which may make it difficult to achieve a comfortable grasp, and the end bends round which I think could hamper tasks. This is using my very limited knife knowledge so wait for the knife nuts to offer there opinions.

Andy,

It looks a lot like my helle eggen, which is a nice knife, also with a sandwich or laminated blade. I find the outer laminates are too soft, making the knife quite useless for striking sparks from a firesteel. Whereas you could weld with the sparks from my woodlore.
The outer steel on this (the knife you refer to) may be harder but I really don't know.

Andy, I have been using a Brusletto for about 11 years, they are not much good with a firesteel, but the edge retention on them is very good, they are also easy to maintain and balance well in the hand. They are good for whittling as well.

The blade shape on that one is very similair to the one that I have, but the handle is totally different, mine is similair to the Troll with the exception of the stud on the butt of the knife. If you are going to get one you will need a seperate striker for your firesteel, but the knife is a quality piece of kit. :-D

You may want to enlist the advice of the guys from British Blades as they will know more about the steel and its qualities (the likes of Martyn and the General are always very helpfull) :biggthump

Leon which Brusletto do you have?

I used a Bamsen the last 5 years I was in the army and I found that filing notches in the spin made it work great on a fire steel.

They are good knives same their all stainless.

And I agree with MartiniDave too the laminated blades are to soft for fire steel work.
