What are you harvesting this month?

I so want to walkabout with someone who really knows his fungi There're masses in my area and I know so little about them.

I ought to do the credits thing and say that Willowbark took the photo and identified the tasties - me I just clambered in throught the brush, separated them from their host and bagged the little darlings.

A good trip out, and thanks to Willowbark's knowledge on that visit, I can now identify pignut too.

This is my favourite time of the year. Just got back with a bag full of Sloe Berries for making Sloe Gin.

I also found some perfect Oyster Mushrooms yesterday which I cooked with a white wine and cream sauce on Pasta.

I've just picked rosehips and bullaces.

The rosehips will be for syrup and the bullaces are already soaking in vodka...

just got back from a walk with a load of Ceps, Chanterelles and Hedgehogs.

Just about to eat them for a late lunch with sausage and mash.

I picked a load of Rosehips yesterday - I was planning to make the syrup mentioned in "Food for free". Which recipe do you use?

today i gathered 50 thistle heads for making blowgun darts.when collecting them you can carry them in a piece of split bamboo tied together around the heads. this keeps them from exploding into a cottony mess as they dry.
