What about cordura

Never could find a use for cordura on a sheath other than using it to strop a blade every once in a while.
epoxy a little swatch to the backside of the sheath, and you've got an integrated strop!

My knife came with a Cordura sheath,[http://www.carl-walther.de/dev2/ind...g=EN&content=products&hid=7&uid=4&product=523 ]. I've not had problems with it but the Cordura is only used for the sheath facings, there is a stiff frame of flexible plastic/nylon? material that encloses the edges of the blade. I like everything about Cordura apart from the weight and price.

Dennis (of Brisa) on BB has kydex sheets and fixings and they give amazingly good service, not sure how price compares though!
