I've seen an axe i quite like - the Wetterlings Forest Axe, but the only place that seems to stock it is here http://www.rutlands.co.uk/cgi-bin/psProdDet.cgi/TUR08526H

Without any other prices to compare it to im not sure if im getting a good deal or not.

Does anyone know of another company that stocks this Axe? (or indeed any of the Wetterlings range)

Dan,

Wetterlings are uncommon in the UK, however they are quite a bit cheaper here

Now I have to say I wouldn't particularly reccomend EAG but the rutlands price is far too high.

A word of caution (from a bloke who has Green Mans Wetterlings Forest Axe proppped up beside him). If you aren't confident completely re-profiling an axe and re-finishing the helve , please don't buy a Wetterlings from the internet. Of the last three I have seen I wouldn't have bought any of them. Don't get me wrong, I have Wetterlings myself, but lately their QC is dreadful (ask Heath or TGM).

You have been warned!

Hmm, Thanks for the heads up about the QC issue Red. I feel resonably confident about reprofiling the head, and i know i can do the haft. Plus there's plenty of help up here if i get stuck at any point! Anyone care to mention any specific problems they've had with EAG? Because at the moment im erring on the side of cheapness!

I'm not going to get into EAG - suffice it to say that I do not shop there, but do note that they don't have any in stock in any case!

Consider shopping in the US and importing (Ragweed Forge springs to mind). You will save money wven with shipping
