Was bored so decided to try out my DD tarp/hammock to see how it faired in the Scottish summer.
Loch Chon the venue, only recently got the lightweight tarp and wanted to give it a try before doing an over night with it and it was bucketing it down.
Went for a wonder through some nasty bog parts, where I got my feet pretty wet and found a nice little in shot at the edge of some woods.
Set up the tarp and my hammock in a small sheltered area and chilled for a bit and dried off my feet.
Eventually I felt the water running down my back from the hammock tapes (ditched the original constantly sagging webbing). I was hoping the drip loops would keep me dry but now I reckon biners are needed.
So after playing about with the set up a bit I decided to go for a wonder and found a small river, which led into a nice pool area just before it opened up into the loch (didn't get a picture of it due to me sinking in the bog again).
The view at the start of the loch
Small stream in full flow

This interesting site which I have never came across before
My thoughts on my day out;
Get sealskinz socks- ordered
Get water proof stuff sack for tarp- think I have one somewhere
Pester government to destroy all midges- they are so annoying!
Question for anyone:
I seen somewhere a guy using a snake skin for his tarp and hammock all in one, has anyone tried this? It looked a very quick way to set up and pack away,
thinking I might try and fashion a waterproof tarp snake skin at some point
Oh, and thanks to Southey with helping upload the pictures, cheers mate
