Howdy!

Well, I'm a bit immobile right now (buried my clipper an inch into my foot - don't ask ) so until I get walkin' again (I give me a day, fast healer :D) I decided to make this little knife for my girlfriend :D

Tis made out of a bit of metal I had lying around. Cut it out with my dremel-ripoff and a cutting disk, shaped with some small needle files. Well I did say it was wee....
Then I coloured it over the hob to a lovely pale blue (doesn't show well in the picture...) and sanded the edge back to clean metal.

S0rry the picture's so rubbish. I'll take a better one when dad gets in, he's got the good camera (for which I will never forgive him - sky was absolutely gorgeous at 2am this morning, moon lit up all the clouds. Truly stunning and all I had was a cell phone camera to capture it!)
EDIT: New better quality pic with a coin for scale :D

Oh, and stats:
Cutting edge - 25mm
Overall length - 48mm
Thickness - 1mm
Convex grind (I tried to get a scandi but it was too tricky )

Still need a chain for it..

Peace!
Pete

JohnC - cheers mate :D It certainly did require more concentration than i expected. I initially was going to put scales on it - spent ages shaping just one, and then decided they didn't suit the blade anyway

janiepopps - why thank you :D She's not nearly as lucky as m'self though!

scottishwolf - Cheers :D I'd consider making and selling a few, but I'd be unsure of what materials to use (I've no idea what this one's made of to be honest, it was made out of a "dog tag" my brother had on a chain once), or how to price them - they take a lot of work but it's hard to justify charging a lot for such a wee item! I'd like to knock out a few in silver though, that'd be nice. Maybe a couple in HT'ed O1 - a real user of a necklace to open those bags of peanuts down the pub  :D
