Waterproofing a DPM Combat jacket

Does anyone know if fabsil or nikwax would work on an old poly cotton Brit combat jacket?
I have already dyed it with Dylon and it took really well leaving a ghost camouflage pattern.

Im now wanting to waterproof it, saves having to buy and carry separate waterproof jacket

Or are there other ways to make it wet proof??

I used Nikwax cottonproof on a Flecktarn parka recently - it's not waterproof, but it's definitely better than it was.

If you want properly waterproof you're probably after some sort of waxproofing if it's cotton.
