Waterproof matches - Tesco

Just a quick mention that Tesco have started selling waterproof safety matches quite cheaply.

They are in the usual household section in a four box pack. I can't remember exactly how much they were but I think it was £1.50 ish.

They do more or less what it says on the box.

It usually has a strip of plastic tape over the striking surface that you remove when you want to use the matches, though once removed it can't be replaced...

what do you do about a striking surface for your waxed matches ????

I flick the wax off when I want to use it, then just use any dry surface, e.g a rock.

Or a fastened zip, or a manly chin with a few days stubble like in the films!
