Warm Trousers

Hey all, can anyone suggest some warm trousers that arent too expensive. I was looking at the Craghoppers lined ones but I was too slow to bag a pair in my size for the clearance sale on their site. I have a pair of the normal ones but they let the cold through.

Any suggestions would be welcome :)

Thanks,
Andy

Long johns are brilliant - I wouldn't be without them in the winter. The M&S merino wool ones are excellent and reasonably priced.

The cragghopper lined one's are great, try tkmaxx, if there's a branch near you, also the regatta action trousers, come in a lined version as well.

The longjohn option is good, got my son a full set from aldi, yesterday for £8, he works part time as a doorman, and is stood out side nearly all night.

Aldi had some cheap merino long johns recently. I had some last year and they're very good. Winter lined Kiwis are good too, if you can get some cheap. I think Go Outdoors also had some cheap fleece trousers that you could perhaps wear below other trousers.

Another vote for the Winter Kiwis. On my second pair now which I use for hillwalking and general cold weather bimbles.

I'm not into the normal Craghopper trousers but the winter ones are so toasty.

£30 is a good price for them, I'd definitely buy another pair at that price anyway.

Either that or your pair up your normal trews with some decent underwear, Ullfrotte Woolpower 200g & 400g are superb.

EDIT:

£22.49 at Field & Trek

as a cheapo option, just wear a pair of ladies tights under your trousers, works a treat. ( does make your "bits" look like a bank robber though 1 )

I'm in Canada at the moment. Minus 15 with a windchill of Minus 20c. I have a pair of Craghoppers Kiwi on and some Trekmates thermal longjohns.... Toasty as you like!!

I got a set of Trouser Liners from British Military Surplus for £2 and they are pretty good, also can recommend the arctic socks for 50p!

Some folks have complained about delivery from them though so not always plain sailing if you getting a few odds and ends its prob worth it.

Cheers Snozz,

The cashback more or less covered the postage )

Now, if only the postman could get through the snow drifts...

If its really cold I just wear my running trousers underneath. They are fleece lined and skin tight and as I dont run anymore they are perfect. Likewise on top, a compression top is fantastic as a second skin

I've got an old pair of lined trousers from regatta, had them for years, other than that a pair of berghaus technical long johns under lightweight trousers is fine.
