Hi

last month I went on cub camp I drove there and a wanted bit more luxury so I bought one of these

http://www.decathlon.co.uk/10-sleep...uilt-in-mattress-black-orange-id_8206770.html

to tell the truth an attack of claustrophobia in my old mummy style bag was another reason.

The mat is really comfortable but the 10c rating on the bag bit is optomistic so I am thinking of getting one of these

http://www.daleswear.co.uk/?action=shop.detail&product=thermarest-tech-blanket&ref=gbase

but would really like something more packable/better and simpler, just a 1.6x1m rectangle with rounded corners.

I could use it as added warmth camping or on its own when crashing on mates sofas.

I seem to remember a member on here made underquilts for Hammocks but can't find his name?

Any other ideas??

I made a down filled top quilt last year; http://www.bushcraftuk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=84995

They are massively popular for hammocking.

TBH, there isn't a lot of difference between a quilt and a sleeping bag used as a quilt; just a zip and a bit more fabric for the width and the hood. I use my sleeping bag as a quilt regularly. For warmth, having a neck closure on a quilt makes the world of difference on the ground or in a hammock.

Thermarest Ventra down quilt!! elasticated foot end to fit over the self inflating mats - I've used one for two years now and its great, low weight and small pack size..... Down side is cost £140+ can sometimes pick 'em up on ebay, that's where I got mine from :)
