Here I am trying to get kit for a model boat build...its almost as much trouble as a real boat!

(Not being able to shop online is saving me lots of money...)

I have sorted out a fair bit by getting some brass wire to fabricate into fittings...the sails are going to be a bit pink...perhaps faded.

And local garages have supplied me with some bits.

The things I cant find as yet...

2 metal tubes 45mm long. outside diametre not more than 6mm.

2 threaded metal rods to fit...62mm Nuts and washers to fit.

6 inches T section Aluminium.

Has anyone anything suited? Im sure I can find something to trade.

i might be able to help but what metal are you looking for?

I don’t think that you mean 62mm threaded rod :lmao: Are you looking for threaded rod that fits down the tube? Loosely or tight?

Don’t have the aluminium but I’ll look around.
How urgent is it?

62mm long! Fits down tube. Its fitting so needs to be snug but passable.

Any non rust metal really.

Not urgent.

Pink sails forsooth!

Unless you're making the thing for a child's playtoy, the best bet for model sails, is material that shows hardly any memory of form at all...because scale is important and the fabric must hang well.

The most realistic models, use a material such as well-washed cotton bed sheets or pillow cases.

Good luck

Oddly enough, that is what I have got. An off pinky (and white) duvet cover. 50p from the thrift ship.

The wooden bits hopefully will come from work...substituting cedar for balsa.

I will have most things...oddly the one thing that evades me at the moment is lead for a keel weight.

Oh, thanks...if its going that far ask him if he has a wooden boat kit he is prepared to sell?

Might as well

In what form do you want the lead, ;
A bit of sheet lead or just waste lead. I have both

What weight d'you need ?

The sheet lead I have is standard 2.5 mm-ish thick. and the rest are bent/mis-shaped fishing weights .
