Hi all. Im new to this game. Have read Ray Mears book and would like to have a go. My question is where to go.I wouldnt think the Forestry Commision would look very favourably on someone wild camping in there forests, even less so on lighting open fires.
Any advise will be most appreciated.

Where are you? In Scotland you have legal rights to wild camp almost anywhere, lighting fires is also allowed with a few sensable restrictions.

Hi, Im on Yorkshire/Lancashire border. Scotland is a bit far for first trip. But thanks for the info, it will be of use a bit later on.
