During' Nam some genius at DoD had a special run of Jungle boots made with flat rubber soles and extruded images of bare feet. The idea was to cover our movements to following VC trackers. Even then, I realised the average G.I. was taller, heavier and had a longer stride. Somehow a 5' vietnamese wieghing in at 200 lbs and showing a stride from a 34" inseam AND leaving a faint Munson last impression never came up for serious consideration until well into trials.
