Victorinox Huntsman to swap for leatherman

  • Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
As Graham says a swap for a decent Leatherman is unrealistic unless someone is feeling very generous, but I have a well-used Gerber Suspension which I would be willing to swap.

Scout about for one of the old models which can be picked up cheaply. I just bought 2 of the original leather man for less than £50 Inc postage.

My pal seeing how ****** off i was just gave me a leatherman core.

No need to swap sorry folks. I'm going to destroy the huntsman.

does your mate want to give me leatherman..... any why destroy the huntsman? rather than destroy it give it to someone who could use it?

Nothing wrong with a Huntsman - great knife for the money. I recall making a bucksaw frame with mine - it had everything I needed in terms of tools.

Might be worth considering that most Leathermans are not legal to carry everyday without good reason. The Huntsman certainly is.

Alternatively, if you really think it is a total horror (as I felt about the Falkniven F1) do what I did - stick up for a charity auction. Everybody wins

I'm going to destroy the huntsman.

Why?
There is nothing wrong with it, I have one myself, and carry it daily when I'm in the UK.#
A very capable and useful tool.
Certainly not worth destroying in a fit of pique.
Why not put it on the Gift-it-on thread and perhaps get something else you need in exchange?

Sorry folks didn't mean i'd destroy it by like burning etc.

I meant i'll use it at work, it will probably get destroyed during use as the last few SAK ive had have had blades snap etc. I'll try it though for a day and see how it go's.

I like the Huntsman.
If you want to swap it with an axe from my collection you can, all good names.
From left to right. Gilpin, Elwell, Nash Gem, Brades, Spearwell. The Gilpin is not for trade as I paid way over the top on Fleebay.

Great tool the Huntsman, I've had mine for a few years now and is the most tool I use, the scissors are a Godsend, I use them regularly, the tweezers have come in handy on a number of occasions, the tin opener I have had to use in work quite a few times.

All in all, a little beauty, Leatherman types I have no use for, gave my Gerber to my son, think it's left in his drawer. :)

leathermans can be very heavy i have a (hang on i carnt remember whats it called) anyway its quite large and heavy
i much perfer a sak as the only thing that a leatherman has that a sak dosent that use can call usefull is the plyers
