I was reading on here the farmer has a better blade(thicker) than the other models, I was just wondering if any of the other models share the same blade!!!

Is the soldier and pioneer the same knife, the farmer looks the same but has a saw which i dont need as they are useless!!!
Oh! I love the victorinos saws, I usually carry a SAK with a saw out of preference. Very handy for whipping a stick out of the hedge nice and neatly, good for notches it figure 4 traps are your thing and with care holding them make excellent scrappers for ferro-rods.

Everybody to their own i suppose, but the saws arent upto anything I would be sawing so its pretty pointless for my uses.

Don't think it was ever designed to replace a bench saw - still, as you say, "Everybody to their own i suppose".
a bit OT but does anyone ever use the corkscrew anymore?
i have a Spartan on my keys and think the Tinker would be a better idea....(its the same but has a philips rather than the corkscrew)

Neither do I but our tool kit is never far away with a laplander and axe and a chainsaw, as I say, i just dont have a need for the saw, I just need a wee knife to keep handy in my pocket, the leatherman type tools are too heavy!!
OK Johnny, we'll agree to differ! As to your question re Soldier v Pioneer, the Pioneer has a little keyring, the Soldier doesn't. Somewhere I even have a Pioneer that only has a single blade.

Fair enough. About a year ago I decided i wanted to get one to replace one I had as a teenager , I started looking around and found one for very reasonable money within a week. Lucky I guess , but a very good bit of kit with a great saw.
I don't know what this repro one is like , maybe worth a look??

I think they're also made by Victorinox, I have a "Nato" logo'd one I picked up at a carboot sale a few years back for about £4!
