Hi

Would it be possible to build something that will charge an ipod or similar through a USB port, running off a PP3 battery?

And are they already available? Anyone built / got one they want to review?

I'm looking to do the TGO challenge next year, and the Cape Wrath trail later on in 2011, and will need to be in contact with home

Cheers

Nick

I thought it'd need to be a pp3, as the voltage would have to step down, but as it seems you can achieve what I'm looking for with a couple of AAs I shall investigate these, as they're small, light (ish) and the AAs can be god hold of pretty easily.

Thanks to you all.

If its a mobile phone you need to charge, I got a ROLSON charge thingy from a local bargain shop. Takes an AA size battery, isn't much larger than the battery itself and then plugs into your phone. Comes with lots of adaptors , is very packable and even works.
