These look cool - lots of potential.

Water repellant (not proof) - but maybe you could Sil one up.

Wouldn't be so hard for someone with a decent sewing machine and access to a roll of silnylon to knock these up though.

What would the use be though?

It offers no heat retention or insulation value as a blanket, can't see it being much use as a tarp, so all you're left with is a ground cloth.

As far as ground cloth go these work really well, are cheap, very very light weight and the small fits in a combat trouser side pocket easily

You can do make one even cheaper if you buy some Tyvek yourself

Its not the cheapest. Worked out at just over £26 including delivery.
