I found out how to make them using your pics, so thanks mate.

Still need to figure the whistle out but i've got the rest.

The square hole is my favourite, used it on my bowdrill and folding bucksaw for the string.

Has so many uses. Plus if you build benches and shelters etc it's really strong and looks great.

Glad you found the posts on my blog useful, must admit im a bit of a try stick addict, love carving them, especially out of wood that has a nice bark onit as the contrast between stick and bark really makes all stand out.
