I found out how to make them using your pics, so thanks mate.

Still need to figure the whistle out but i've got the rest.

The square hole is my favourite, used it on my bowdrill and folding bucksaw for the string.

Has so many uses. Plus if you build benches and shelters etc it's really strong and looks great.

Glad you found the posts on my blog useful, must admit im a bit of a try stick addict, love carving them, especially out of wood that has a nice bark onit as the contrast between stick and bark really makes all stand out.

It is good fun I make one at least once a year its good for knife skills I make those new to bushcraft carve at least one to learn knife skills...

had my first go at one today, not sure if this is right or not

i was reading some posts on them last night and only really had a vague idea what one was, but i had some time free today so i thought i'd have a go
