Tropical wood for drill and hearth

Can anyone advise on suitable common tropical woods for bow drills particularly in Borneo?

I know of bamboo,(an import from mainland South East Asia), hibiscus (an import from China ) and one other unidentified wood that works.

Speculation welcome as well

I return there in a couple of weeks
