Just enjoyed some quality time with the two boys up the woods, nice to get out and have a laugh and a joke with them,

Lots and lots of spring colour to be had, both on the deck and higher up
Boys turn to get the fire going, we always take it in turns to get the fire going and try where possible to use a different method everytime to keep the skills sharp, this time it fell to eldest to do it, although youngest also wanted to help with the prep

the Primroses are magnificent this year, same as many other wild flowers are

Bluebells are just starting to come through to flower
guess this has been here a while then
i think these are a portable roof truss used by the military as these woods were used during WW2 by the Canadians for live fire training and are littered with all sorts of weird and wonderfull lumps of metal, some of the big oaks were going to be felled for timber, but the saw mill refused the timber as upon inspection after being told of the woods former use during WW2 they found the big old trees were peppered with shrapnel
and with that my batteries expired, still off to the top of the downs tomorrow and then back up the woods on Monday & Tuesday next week - cant wait.
