Looks a bit like one too! (the sheath, not the axe)
I made this little blade sheath for my Rosselli axe. It had a leather one, but I think its not tough enough. The blade is razor sharp and it could easily cut through the leather.
I used rawhide, some shoe sole leather for a welt, and lots of copper tacks going through it all. Even if the blade starts cutting through the welt, it can't go any further than the copper tacks.
The only think is, it's bit tight now! When making something with rawhide, remember it will shrink a bit!
