ok so tonight i am making, high energy snack bars.

ingredients are as follows:

mixed nuts and raisins(moderately smashed up with the bottom of a chilli sauce bottle)
roasted salted cashews(chilli bottle smashed)
chocolate chips
glace cherries
crunchy peanut butter
creamed coconut
wholemeal seed and grain flour
oats
butter
honey
maple syrup
demerara sugar
EDIT: and ground ginger

the amounts i used were not recorded i just used the that'll do method. as for getting the mix right i fine tuned it with adding more oats/flour then a touch more syrup as id gone a little too dry

so here is the mix(no earlier pictures as i forgot)

ingredients

and finished bars to come once they have come out of the fridge

please note the ale was not an ingredient, it was purely for chef lubrication

With all the energy of a neutron bomb :D :D

Aye, well, you'll no' be hungry, that's for sure ;) healthy and regular too.

All good stuff though :)

You could maybe half dip them in chocolate....just to hold everything together tidily ?

Kind of put me in the notion for muesli bars. I haven't made them in ages. It's the thought of the chewy oats and honey

yeah thats the plan. the mixture is lush. im hoping that once they have been in the fridge for a few hours they will hold bar shape. if not ill just eat them out the ziplock lol

ive got dehydrated fruit porridge for breakfast, these for lunch(snacks) and dehydrated chilli with cous cous and flat breads for dinner for this weekends camp.(and a litre of rum:))
