It's a PK2 from Simon Fearnhamm at the Raven Armoury.



It's been a while coming but is a very beautifully made knife.

I used to have a PK1 which, again, was faultlessly made but really too much of a club for my purposes. This PK2 looks to be much more useful to me.

Here's a size comparison with Ben Orford's Campcraft and Woodlander knives to give a sense of scale:



I'll give some further feedback once I've had an opportunity to get to know the PK2 better but initial impressions are entirely favourable: this is a very beautifully made cutting tool. I hope it's performance matches its appearance!

I really like Paul’s original PK1. Its larger size fits in to my knife using ethos well. But that PK2 one looks like a really useful tool. I’d like to try one of those myself. Have fun.

Yes, I believe it is. Paul Kirtley was responsible for the design or had a heavy influence on it, hence the inclusion of his company's logo.

I found the PK1 just a bit too clumpy for my bushcraft antics. I'm sure that it would work superbly in a more survival oriented scenario but I don't find myself in too many of those!

I did love the stunning quality of Raven Armoury's manufacture so, when the smaller and, for me, more versatile PK2 hove into view, I thought I'd try it.

At this stage, I haven't given it much of a try but I have found that the slightly longer handle on the Orford Campcraft offers a marginally more reassuring grip. Still, it is very early days...
