A friend of mine was having a clearout recently. He had bought a Puma 953 for his "service" penknife in Germany years ago, but never carried it for a variety of reasons. So he sold it to me.

The description was short

Puma 953 drop point lock blade knife, saw, Stag scales. Leather pouch. Boxed

I googled it and saw a couple of pictures only - looks like it hasn't been made in a while and was never common. Still I trust the guy implicitly and he paid over 170DM for it "back in the day" so how bad can it be?

Turns out - not bad at all !

This was the box

The contents were the knife - mint with the lead sealed gurantee still atached and a leather pocket / neck pouch

The main blade swings easily open and snaps firmly locked (frame lock too - not a liner lock). Spear point and maybe 3 1/2" long

There is also a great saw blade with both bottle opener and screwdriver

Finally - look at the thickness of those stag scales :)

Remarkably pleased with my "second hand penknife" ;)

To be honest - I'm over the moon. I know its an "old fashioned" knife, but I can see this getting a lot of use!
