The 'I've found a bargain' thread

  • BushMoot: Come along to the amazing Summer Moot 31st July - 5th August (extended Moot : 27th July - 8th August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
If you’ve got a load of them and most usage is local to your supply, then I’m nitpicking. I’d happily use them in tv remotes and round the house stuff and if one fails or starts to underperform then just grab another. Given the negligible price difference then LADDA would be my choice if I needed more.
I use them in coop openers (we have many coops) & similar things. They are fine & at £1.20 each & capable of hundreds if charges they knock spots off alkalines & eneloops.

The only rechargeable stuff that's on my "hell no" list is Olight

I could definitely benefit from a resource page detailing the various battery types and types/ acronyms etc

Really meant a thread with recommended suppliers - good service, range, rep etc.

BB used to have a page I stuck there I pinched from EDC Forum with a lot of info about Li-ion, Alkaleaks (;)), NiMh etc. It also had load of knife info like ‘choil’, ‘ricasso’, ‘distal taper’ and all that. But Google is pretty good these days, I think anyone could google it quicker than finding the relevant thread?

Thread drift, apologies. Hoping a few of you took advantage of the Wurkkos TS10 offer I put up a little while ago. Mine arrived yesterday £14.90 for the pair. Orange film is high quality camera filter and is going to make the most of the Anduril UI candle flicker mode to be used with a diffuser cap for safe ‘candles’ in the campervan.

I'm wondering why?
A US/China deal? Superceding new tech coming onto the market ? Disposal of massive overbuy when Big Orange T first announced tariffs?

No idea but when you can buy NiMH rechargeables for £1 a battery, who cares?

I use a LOT of AAs so keep plenty of these, they work fine for me

Olight or rechargeable NiMH ones too.
Am I right in thinking it’s only AA and AAA size, not 18650s or 21700s or other sizes?
I have a smart charger that tells you all the charging data, plus it takes practically any battery size, the only difference I can see is, mine won’t boot out a defective cell and you have to put it in the right way round or it doesn’t charge, apart from that, I don’t think it brings anything new to the table. It does look very cool, as Chris said, it’s calling to me- cool tech, cool tech, come and get me! :p
