the deer stalkers Leuku

just a name i came up with for a new knife i have just finished, this one mounts the 8.3" Lauri carbon steel blade, which is an excellent chopping and slicing blade. the handle is made from Heat Treated birch, a factory ferrule and a Red deer stag pommel seccured with two pins, the Antler is comes from a red deer my father found dead on the isle of sky.

The handle is slightly longer than my other leuku's, which makes chopping more effecting as well as fine work as it helps to balance out the blade when being held further up the handle.

probably a pouch sheath, i find the traditional scandi sheaths less than ideal for leuku's, as you have to pinch the top whilst removing it.

ahh is ok, my girlfreinds in scotland, she wont mind.

not quite sure on the weight, but the blade is 3.2mm thick bohler carbon steel tempered to 59rc

Has to be around 450 grammes. It will have a niiiice heft to it.

it feels very choppy in the hand, like you could do alot of work with it.
