Well folks, I have the dreaded rona... I'm sure I'm done for..
Wife and I work very long hours so are often feeling tired, but recently I've felt really fatigued... then I awoke to a funny feeling in my throat and a strange hoarse cough... went through the day and actually started to feel a bit queasy, had a dull back ache like I'd slept funny.. etc, decided to find a lat flow test... watched anxiously as the colours shot up to the C indicating its worked and all fine.. set a timer for 15 mins.. looked again and there was the faint T line...

Cough seems to have subsided, headache is there constantly, coming on strong between paracetamol and I'm just generally feeling quite tired. Sense of smell and taste is still there.. I'm hoping it doesn't get any worse as I really can't afford to be ill with the amount I/we have to do!

Alas.

I have not had it yet though folk at my place are going down like flies.

But! They seem to get better.

Same for me, I meet so many people from all over daily and managed to not get it.. thought I was invincible to be honest.
I've had friends who had it and some of them were over it in a few days, "had worse hangovers" said one... so I'm hoping I fall into that category..

We had it last week for the first time, we both ached for a couple of days and also had no energy for about 4 days. My wife also had a bit of a cough but that was it. We felt fine by the end of the week but were still testing positive. Hope you feel better soon

Hope you get over it quickly but make sure you give your body enough time to recover afterwards!

Eastwards!
Take things easy for a while. Your body needs time to heal. Simples. S/d the silly work ethic and go read some books. You will be surprised at how much better you will feel in two weeks time.

9 yo son got a second dose that lasted 2 whole days of fever with nights of hallucinations and 39 point something temperatures despite parameters and ibuprofen! First dose he got he was right as rain after a day driving my partner mad for quarantine period. She got it 3 days after him and I got it 6 days after him. Mine wasn't bad at all, absolutely nothing but a slight sore throat. I got it 10 days before a holiday on Arran. Then I got told I needed 11 days quarantine. They added a day for no reason.

I felt OK but after 45 minutes of hard garden work I hit the wall and just about made it indoors to the couch and 2 hours out like a light! Next day 15 minutes with 2 hours rest. Day 3 I took off but day 4 I did half hour without anything but took long rests anyway. After 10 days I was a caged animal full of energy raring to get away on holiday and off cycling.

I think we were lucky as we got it after 1 jab or no jabs and got it mild. We're now on 2 jabs but son is too young. Did you know after a positive test, you don't need to do anymore, a school kid at primary only needs 3 days before going back into school!

Hope you get well very soon and have no further symptoms. Get well and keep well.

Sorry to hear you're smitten. I hope it clears quickly and does not recur.
I hope the others who've had it find it does settle down and they get their lives back again properly.

So far, touch wood, we've avoided it. Long may it last, but Son2 is back using the train and working in the office for the first time since just before lockdown started......we'll see.

I had it in January and thought I was going to die. As far as I know I'm still here.

Oh you're an inspiring bunch!! Haha!

This morning I woke up about 6ish, sore back, headache etc, popped some paracetamol then went back to sleep.
Woke up again and my throat is a bit more sore today, but the headache I had seems to have dropped off for now.
I noticed last night before bed that breathing was a little tougher than before... I can only describe it as a time when I was younger and used to feel a little wheezy. I'm feeling better in a sideways movement I guess... Still going to lay around most of the day I suppose.

My wife, triple jabbed, caught it for the first time this march, (the omicron variant) which is surprising since she is a junior school teacher. She just felt rough for a few days but soon recovered. Despite sharing a house, rooms & even a car journey with her I didn't get it, leastwise I didn't have any symptoms. I am not jabbed The only time I came into contact with anyone was doing the weekly shopping & I wore a mask to protect the others just in case.
There are so many people now who have had it multiple times; it looks like it, or yet more variants, will be with us for some to come, if not forever.

Well... dear wife has tested positive..
So we're both done for haha...
Headache hasn't returned today which is good.

You know, weirdly, when people talk about covid being man made etc.. maybe its in my mind, but I do find the symptoms to be a lot more structured than with a common cold/flu... I can only describe it as imagine a cold being a balloon filled with red, blue, white, green (whatever) paint, then thrown at you...you'd have this great big mixed mess hit you... this illness really feels like those colours are in their own separate balloons which are thrown at specific time increments... really odd..

For me it started with a very dry throat which by the following morning had become the most sore throat I'd ever experienced and a fever that rapidly worsened. By the afternoon I was too hot and too cold every thirty seconds, sweating and had almost non stop heart palpitations. Time seemed to move slowly as I tried to sleep and managed what felt like 20 minutes but it was more like 5. I had vivid nightmares verging on hallucinatory as I drifted in and out. It was too painful to look at a TV or phone screen and had lost my voice so couldn't really contact anyone. At some point the fever reached its zenith and my heart was beating like it was about to leap out of my chest. I reckoned my chips were up at that point and a minute later it all went black.

I woke up less than hour later, somewhat relieved to still be inhabiting my body. The fever subsided by the next day but the sore throat carried on for several more days and painkillers wouldn't touch it. By the following week the symptoms had gone but when I tried a bit of pottering in my garden it knocked me for 6 and I slept for the whole afternoon. I reckon that fatigue took another week or 10 days to disappear. I've had a few colds since and every one has made me unbearably tired which makes me think there's some long term effect from the covid.

Yikes! I certainly don't feel I've got it anywhere near that bad. I'm hesitant to admit just incase it gets worse, but as before I do feel like it's gone sideways rather than better or worse.. I can't function properly with my newest symptoms of achiness, tiredness and lack of appetite, but equally I'm glad to be past the throbbing headache.
I am jabbed up, so I'm hoping that's helped matters.
Sleeping hasn't been an issue really. Yesterday I slept most of the day in bouts, lump in the morning, lump in the afternoon, then bed time was pretty easy to be out again. Today less so, I've vegged all day, I've felt tired but I let the wife have sofa sleeping rights...

SARS-CoV-2 hasn’t specialised in humans properly yet and since it targets the ACE-2 receptor, which is present in lots of different cells in the body, it can attack lots of different parts of your body. That’s why there’s such a wide range of symtoms as well. I wonder if that’s why you experienced what you did.
