Last night, my oldest, 14 and i decided that we should really do more. So we pitched the hammocks and tarps in the woods next to the small-holding and spent the night there.

I just thought i'd say thanx to a few people really, cos although i've always been into camping, nature and the outdoors, i'd not done as much as i should have done.

I slept in the hammock i got from Magickelly, protedted by the midge net, also from John. The tarp i got from Outdoorcode. The brew was made using the Kelly Kettle i got from Graham_s group buy and the breakfast was cooked on the Trangia i got from Bumblebee's group buy; you see a familiar thread building up here

I've only been a member of this site for just over a year and until then i didn't know there was more to camping than shower blocks and kids play areas :o

I've been to 2 meets and met some great people and made some fatastic friends along the way.

I just thought it was about time i said thanx to you all for the inspiration, including Tony and the gang for keeping this site up n running :You_Rock_

if this is the place to say thanks then let me say a big thanks to Heinnie Haynes I bought some knives from them last month and the were fabulous, polite, efficient and even added a bit of humour, one of the best companies i have done buisiness with, I have no connection with them, only as a customer, but I do appreciate good service.
its not very often that I deal with companies that I think deserve credit these days but Heinnie Haynes is one
and the best site on the net is without doubt BUSHCRAFT UK
you have transformed the way I live thank you all

Morch,
I know how you feel. It's great to think about all those fellow enthusiasts and how we often take for granted all the help and advise we get and give to each other. I hope you have many mre nights just like it. :) :)

well morch i think you've just summed up the way i feel about bcuk and it members. This place got me back into the outdoors after a long and depressing absence and helped me meet the best friends I've ever had it's great and long may it stay this way:D . I just need to keep my wallet in my pocket when a group buy comes round or my wife will ......... not be very happy.:o

Well said morch, this forum is a wealth of ideas and sound information and an inspiration to try out different bushy skills and bits of kit :D

Yup i know how you feel Morch,

I only joined this site earlier this year myself and agree that everyone on here is great, very hgelpful and friendly.
Not made it to any meetings yet (that'll teach me to pre-book all my holidays) but hope to make it to some next year.
My uncle has recently moved fairly close to me and has spent most of his life enjoying the outdoors, he and a friend of his are interested in coming to a "moot" as well, they have some interesting skills between them. He recently made me a cracking walking stick, if i can work out how to post photo's i'll put some on.
