Testing your abilities

I chanced upon this video and it is rather long and apologies for that; it is about a guy testing his skills against the elements, he goes about it in a fashion that I consider way too risky, should he not have built in a bit of fail-safe just in case?

Seems unnecessarily gung-ho, what do you think?

I have no reason to believe it is fake, but hey, who knows?

I too think that Ross knows his stuff; he appears to be very methodical in his approach and doesn't spout BS, as Rik says. It's obvious that he's experienced and his blog and posts here are always clearly well thought out and well written.

Agree. I always enjoy reading Ross's posts and his Blogs. I consider them to be well thought out and sensible. He goes by the Forum name of rg598.

Very interesting but I wonder why he did not pitch his shelter against the root base of the fallen trees in the back ground you can see? He would have had extra shelter behind him? There was nothing to shelter him from the wind?

He ran out of wood during the night when there was tons of it laying all around him but maybe I missed why in some of the film?

He was a brave guy, he was sure sounding cold in the morning.
