This is a "Just out the box" review :) I've just taken delivery of my new Tasmanian Tiger TT G82 Rucksack - To say this is a "cavernous beast" is an understatement!!!!
Full OEM spec's are here - http://intranet.tatonka.com/infosys/php/artintt9.php?7604_TT Range Pack G-82

My 1st overall impression is one of "quality" The whole pack is mounted on a fully removable back carry system, which itself is fully adjustable for back length. The hip pad has got to be one of the most substantial ones I've ever seen.

The pack also comes complete with two full side pockets and a large front mount pocket. All of which are removable and are designed to be used as day bags!!. The front pocket is supplied with a top carry handle and webbing shoulder straps. The interior has various sub dividers. The two side pockets are designed to zip together, with each pocket having a padded shoulder strap making another small day sack!!!
Front Pocket:

The top lid is also fully removable and can also be used as a shoulder day bag!!

Overall, I'm very impressed with the build and flexibility of this pack and it appears to be well suited to longer term expedition type use!! My next outing I will be taking it - However, I will be leaving all the pockets off as it will only be a quick two nighter!!!

If there is one negative, that I've not had chance to evaluate is the weight of the "empty" pack. I'm hoping that the excellent carry system will alleviate this extra weight :) I'll do another update when I've managed to get out and try it :)

I hope you've enjoyed this quick review :)

Whoooo - looks really classy, that! But is it really 6.4kg?! And its using 700 denier Cordura, not the 1000 denier stuff found on most military packs, so where is all that weight coming from?

Looks very sturdy. Does the ladder lock back fitting look like its well built? Also, is that the amityville ghost in the fireplace? Can see its eyes!

I think the bulk is the "carry system" I havn't taken it fully apart yet, but the whole sack zips off the carry platform to reveal various molle and webbing sections :)

It's very simple and has double fold velcro flaps - seems to be simple and rock solid!! :) No Ghosts - Brass Knobs on the fire :lmao: :lmao:

That's the "sniper" version of the Range Pack, behind the back there's a detachable carrying system for putting various sniper rifles (not the .50 Barrett anti-materiel).

Also, this is the previous version. You can distinguish it from the MTS System, Tasmanian Tiger's MOLLE System. The newer pack has the original MOLLE/PALS grid.

I hope they've solved the problem at the Range Pack and you won't end up having a hipbelt ripped off. Have met 2 SF Raider with Range Packs and were forced to send them back to the company 'cos their hipbelts were completely torn apart from the main pack.
