Excellent, and it gave me an extra long dinner break :)

Always good and very instructive to see how things were done in far off parts, a lot of these skills would have been practiced in the British Isles a long time before, but these guys refined them for their own needs in the new world. They were, after all, descendants of (mostly) Brits from all parts of these islands.

Yes well it was known as Van Diemen's land its where Britain transported her criminals back in the day so its not inconceivable that poachers were sent out there for some minor offence and turned their skills on the local game and some of these men are the descendants of those people. A great piece of living history
