Does anyone have a recommendation for a budget teepee? I know we can make a small teepee from 3x3 DD tarp, but I'm looking for a sub £100 actual teepee that I can take on my little woodland trips.

Thanks peeps.

I had one and gave it away to a friend's kids.....it's not really a comfortable or useful space.

I honestly thought that a fishing shelter would be a better option.
Like this kind of thing.....

Each to their own though.

The big problem with most tipis is the centre pole. It seriously limits useful space.
I’m a car camper so a set of poles to make an A frame that weighs more than most peoples entire back packs, isn’t an issue.

Not to your requirements, no, just advice on what to avoid.
You will have seen the post about small tipis and how the lower angled small ones leave little stirring room.

I use a 3M x 3M (60 degree) tipi but I cannot recommend any of them for back packing.
If you can guarantee being able to sling it from a tree and are happy to risk not take poles at all then at <£100 it’s not going to make much difference. Buy one and work on it

Mine was crap when New and it’s taken years to get it where I want it.

Are you looking specifically for something made of polyester or nylon? There is the cotton canvas Polish Lavvu?

Most probably nylon due to keeping the weight down. I wouldn't use it for trekking, only in the woods so weight isn't so much of an issue. I have looked at the lavvu, it's something I'm considering....

Luxe Outdoor have a good reputation iirc. Not sure how readily available they are over here. Otherwise there's DD and Naturehike. I only have experience with the Polish Lavvu.

Not a Tepe the 3FUL Lanshan 2 trekking pole tent might be worth a look at, too.

You may find a Golite Hex 3 or a Shangri-La 3 tent "pre-loved" somewhere.

I still use my Hex 3 occasionally and remain pleased with it. You can use the pole or suspend it from a tree or equivalent. You can use it a) with the inner, b) without the inner, c) with the floor.

If I recall correctly the Shangri-La 3 was an updated Hex 3.
