During my daily dog stroll through my local wood I saw a muntjack nibbling on a bush about 200 yards away.

I had my 7 month old Wire Haired Vizsla off the lead and I didn't want him to chase the deer.

So,I clapped my hands, waved my arms about and made myself look as obvious (and silly) as possible. The beast didn't bat an eyelid and just kept nibbling. I distracted the dog's attention and the deer eventually sauntered off.

Is this unusual,or are deer becoming less bothered by humans:confused:

At two hundred yards, the completely wild deer wouldn't move up here either. It's not really worthwhile for them, as it wastes energy, and they are fast enough that at 50 yard head start, nothing would catch them.
