I bought a beautiful silver grey sheepskin in Skye in the Summer 2012. After two years of intense use I decided to wash it, even if I was reluctant. I followed all the instructions provided and the sheepskin now is very clean, but it also is very curly haired. The seller gave me the hint to brush the skin with a brush for dog or cat care. Any other hints for me curly sheepskin? Thanks to all :)

Patience.
Start at one end and don't 'chug' the comb or brush through it. You don't want to pull the wool out any more than you want to pull your own hair out.
Start at the ends and work inwards, handful by handful.
Comb, or brush, though the latter is inclined to loosen more hair, it can be quicker though.

It should end up very soft and 'fluffed' again. The curl, the crimp, is a good thing, it'll keep the rug from ever going flat and limp looking.

cheers,
Toddy
