I wear a size 12 shoe. My knee-high snowmobile boots have to be 1"+ thick with a removable liner, light as feathers but GIGANTIC!!!!!

Cheers, fairly standard winter bike gloves there........i know what you mean on the boots though. I'm the same size as you and my baffins have got a storage box all to themselves, i could probably fit any other half dozen pairs of normal boots in the same size box
