Hi all,

I have a lovely wooden scaled Svord Peasant from a swap on this site, (thanks Wattsy), and I want to add liners to it just as a starter project. I've got some aluminium from a cheap crappy mess tin from my cellar/workshop/laboratory/secret headquarters, and I want to couple that with some black, orange or red material sandwiched between the alu and the wooden scales. Being a cheapskate I don't want to buy anything, but as I've never attempted anything like this before, I wanted to ask you all what type of material (pref household) can be used?

I'll post pics once finished.

Cheers, Magentus

Coke cans or equivalent make good liners if you want something thin.

I've also seen folks use old dvd cases cut down to make liners as well

You could use the mess tins as thick liners if you want, but for colour it might be easiest to buy fibre liner. Mick wardell sells them on ebay as well as Jean at www.knifescales.co.uk. For the couple quid they cost it'll save lots of hassle. Maybe you could use charcoal powder or toner in two part epoxy and let it set between flat plastic for diy coloured liners? Sounds like work to me though! I'm sure others will have better solutions...Whatever you do post some pics if you get a chance. I love to see people's pimped peasants! Good luck fella.
