So I was bored. the weather was good and there was this ugly knife waiting to be rehandled. never did it before. So I decided to give it a try. I scraped together a few things around the house and started drilling, cutting, sanding, more cutting, more sanding. and eventually I got something that kinda looks like a knife handle.
Now, of course. it needs lots of finishing touches. But. I rehandled a knife for the first time. and I must say it's a job that gives you a good feeling. very satisfying job.
anyway, here are the pics. note that this is not a tutorial about kniferehandling. maybe how not to do it ;)

at firs I thought I could chip out a space for the ironknifehandlethingy. ( my english, words words, hope you know what I mean)

but I was wrong. So I had to split the boards and take a thinner piece of wood,
that should go in between the two boards. ( boards are of an old matrass rack. )

Nowt wrong with that mate.
And to end up with a finished knife in one day is pretty good in my book.
I bet it becomes your favourite.
As for it not being a tutorial, well the very fact that it was your first time and you don't have job specific tools spurs on people like me.
Thanks :You_Rock_

thanks! that again spurs me on to do some more handlecarving. I like carving with only a knife. getting sucked in, forgetting the time. my next job will be making a bushcraft worthy sheat. and of course finish the handle off. :)
